The Toughest Post I Have had to Write

by Rebecca on November 22, 2015

The time is nowI have put this off for longer than I should, but now is the time to let you know that I just can’t “do it all” anymore. The final straw for me was meeting with a new coach/therapist and her asking me what I did for fun. Other than reading and exercising I didn’t have any great answers and I even said that my work was something I did for fun- ugh!!!

To make matters worse, she then asked me what I do for spontaneous fun- now that was an anxiety-inducing question!!!

After that meeting, I finally realized something had to give. My surgical practice has never been busier (so much so I have decided to hire another surgeon –if you know anyone great-let me know). My kids and especially my husband get my “leftovers” more than I wish to be true.

The time has come to refocus my priorities.

As much as I love sharing ideas, writing this blog takes a lot of time that I just don’t have right now so I have to stop.

CatalystVETS is not going anywhere.

We are still meeting here in Raleigh once a quarter and have community groups meetings locally here as well. If you would like to join us- just click here and I will get you more information.

Thanks for all your support for the years and if there is anything I can do for you-please feel free to let me know!

Thanks for all the management and leadership pearls along the way. Your blog allowed me to connect with you all the way from Los Angeles.

No doubt- one of the best things to come of this site is your friendship 🙂

Rebecca, you are one of the busiest people I know–it can be a blessing and a curse! I totally understand having to back away from this part of your Catalyst “dynasty”. 😉 The beauty of it is you can always pick it up later again when things slow down. (And yes, I made myself laugh with that one too!

Rebecca, thank for your hard work. Catalyst has not been a failure.
Your efforts and insight have stimulated my thoughts and actions.
This will lead to greater things. Thanks again for stepping out.

Dan I really appreciate your kind words. Honestly, it is tough as I thought it would “take off” more than it has BUT maybe that actually has been a blessing because if it had taken off on top of my busy surgical practice it actually would have been a disaster for me and my family at least in this season of life!!

Hi Rebecca-

I completely understand and had to cut some veterinary-related activities off of my plate too. I hope to come back to my website and blog one day, but having fun is equally important. Good luck to you and congrats on your business!!
